Olu is here to collaborate with you and bring your project's vision to life. When he commits to a voice, a personality, a backstory, he immerses himself completely in it.
From the Artist:
I love writing in all its forms. The myriad ways you can bend and shape the English language in elegant, precise, or moving ways is something that captivates me. I am currently working on two short stories and a novel. I have also regularly written poetry, spoken word, and lyrics since I was in middle school. Whenever I am writing or analyzing writing I imagine how I would narrate it. The characters speak to me as well as to each other. I often practice saying their words in the truest tone and with the right depth of feeling.
As an educator for the past eight years, I often narrate various texts for my students. It is vital that they grasp the gravity, the levity, and, all in all full human experience of the text we are analyzing. I must capture the voice, tone, and emotional truth behind what each character is saying, even if it is an internal monologue. Co-teachers and students often request that I narrate texts. I have made it a point of pride to consider the author's choices in characterization and world-building as well as several other narrative factors in portraying each character and shading their responses, assertions, and musings in just the right way.
I bring this high level of engagement, energy, and realism to video narrations, promos, commercials, and other voiceovers. Every type of voice over has a story behind it. I am always willing to immerse myself entirely into a story in order to deeply connect with the intended audience.

Our Production Process

Communication
We pride ourselves on open and clear communication. Olu responds to system messages within 48 hours for projects that originated and were contracted on distribution platforms such as ACX. For more urgent communication please email olu@ayo-artistries.com. The messages sent via this website are checked daily, and Olu will respond within 24 hours.

Prep
To ensure the artist's vocal approach matches your vision, Olu will record a 15-minute sample. Before recording this sample Olu will analyze the text, searching closely for performance cues to help him internalize the characterization, voice tonality, scene exposition, overall tone, emotional beats, and other nuances.
At this time Olu will reach out for guidance and context around: pronunciations, performance cues and performance adjustments. Feel free to preemptively send all this information in advance when you email him the manuscript.

Recording & Production
It is important to note that once the 15-minute sample has been approved by the author and Rights Holder (RH), Olu will likely complete the project without further input. Exceptions to this are when he shares audio files and progress updates with the RH during the mutually agreed upon project milestone dates. Another exception is if there are major tonal changes in the project. Olu will likely note these beforehand as he will read the entire text before recording. Please feel free to reach out throughout the production process with important context or additional notes that you think will be essential to fully capture your vision.
Olu will always honor your written work with the highest care and appropriate sensibility. He will keep all the feedback and context given front and center in his mind throughout the recording process.

Post Production & Final Upload
Due to the highly rigorous research, rehearsal, proofing, and sound editing process we have in place, mispronunciations and other mistakes making it into the final edit is rare.
However, it is worth noting that this process is very human, and mistakes happen (for example, misreads and errors in pronunciation). We take our duty to right those mistakes very seriously, and will do so with the utmost care.
As mentioned earlier, after the 15-minute sample has been approved, Olu will hit the ground running with your vision foremost on his mind. He will reach out when necessary with milestone updates or guidance around unforeseen circumstances. You can always reach out to Olu if you have any questions or concerns.
